Streamlined Support for Subsidy Applications: One-Stop DM Service Launch

Launch of One-Stop DM Service with Subsidy Application Support

Mail Customer Center Inc., headquartered in Bunkyo, Tokyo, has announced the introduction of a unique service aimed at assisting small businesses in Japan. This service, known as the "One-Stop DM Service with Subsidy Application Support," utilizes the government’s Small Business Sustainability Subsidy program to facilitate the implementation of direct mail (DM) strategies.

Simplifying the Process for Small Businesses

The primary aim of this service is to simplify the often complex and burdensome process of subsidy applications, which can deter small business owners from pursuing DM campaigns. By offering a centralized solution, Mail Customer Center aims to alleviate the operational burden small businesses face when trying to expand their market reach through DM initiatives.

Direct mail has historically been a costly marketing strategy, with expenses related to printing and mailing posing significant challenges for smaller enterprises. While subsidies can potentially reduce these costs, applying and managing the subsidy after approval typically involves complicated procedures that many businesses find overwhelming.

Recognizing these challenges, Mail Customer Center has stepped in to provide comprehensive support from the initial application phase to the completion of the DM project, including planning, production, and distribution. This one-stop approach not only helps streamline the process but also reduces the costs and practical burdens small businesses face.

Overview of the Service

Utilizing the Small Business Sustainability Subsidy, this service allows eligible businesses to receive up to two-thirds of their DM costs covered, provided they meet specific criteria. Mail Customer Center offers a full suite of services ranging from pre-application verification to document preparation and ongoing project management post-approval.

By centralizing application support and campaign execution, small businesses can avoid the need to engage with multiple vendors or manage different aspects of the process independently. This integrated approach enables them to implement effective DM strategies with reduced personal expenditure and operational hassle.

Eligibility Criteria

The service is targeted at small businesses that meet the following employee criteria, excluding part-time or temporary staff:
  • - Commercial and Service Industries (excluding hotels and entertainment): 5 or fewer employees.
  • - Manufacturing, Construction, and Others (including hotels and entertainment): 20 or fewer employees.

Application Timeline

In order to utilize the currently available Small Business Sustainability Subsidy (19th round of public recruitment), businesses must take action before certain deadlines. For instance, requests for document issuance must be submitted to local chambers of commerce before April 16, 2026. Given the short timeframe, early consultation is advised.

Important Notes

This service is predicated on the use of the government’s Small Business Sustainability Subsidy. It is essential to remember that:
  • - Approval Process: The subsidy is not guaranteed; applicants must go through a vetting process.
  • - Funding Logistics: The subsidy operates on a reimbursement basis, meaning businesses must initially cover the full cost of DM expenses before receiving compensation.
