UnionPay International Sponsors THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Global Tour in Paris

On March 25, 2026, UnionPay International (UPI), a subsidiary of China UnionPay, proudly sponsored the Paris stop of THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Global Tour, organized by POP MART Europe. This exciting collaboration not only elevates the visibility of POP MART's original designer toy brand within the European market but also expands UnionPay's cross-border payment options for cardholders worldwide.

The Paris leg of THE MONSTERS tour was held at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur in the trendy Le Marais district from March 4 to March 29, 2026. Prior stops included major cities like Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong, making Paris another significant international venue for the event.

Currently, all major POP MART retail locations across Europe are equipped to accept UnionPay cards and UnionPay Mobile QuickPass. This includes shops in countries such as the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, and Italy. Tickets for the Paris exhibition were affordably priced at €12 for adults, €8 for teenagers aged 10 to 17, while children under 10 were welcomed for free. Visitors could easily access the venue by foot from the Saint-Paul metro station on line 1.

The exhibition celebrated the ten-year anniversary of THE MONSTERS series and showcased unique collectible items from the LABUBU line, which were available for purchase exclusively at the event.

UnionPay International is dedicated to enhancing its global payment network and increasing the acceptance and issuance of its cards. With over 2,600 partnerships worldwide, UnionPay cards are accepted in 183 countries and regions. Outside mainland China, the network accounts for over 80 million merchants and 1.8 million ATMs, ensuring efficient and secure cross-border payment services for cardholders globally.

In France, UnionPay continues to strengthen its local acceptance and service capabilities. As of 2025, more than 700,000 merchants across various sectors, including retail, dining, transport, hospitality, education, and entertainment accept UnionPay cards. Notable places such as Galeries Lafayette, Disneyland Paris, La Poste, G7 Taxi, and Monoprix supermarkets have integrated this payment option into their systems. Furthermore, UPI is enhancing its cross-border financial services in France through collaborations with local financial institutions, offering convenient remittance services for Chinese expatriate communities and facilitating economic exchanges between China and France.

UnionPay's influence in Europe is expanding, with more than 90% of European nations enabling its services. Approximately 80% of point-of-sale terminals support UnionPay transactions, and over 6 million merchants across Europe accept UnionPay Mobile QuickPass, ensuring seamless payment experiences for both local residents and international travelers.

Paris, recognized globally as a cultural, artistic, and tourist hub, provided an ideal backdrop for UnionPay International's sponsorship of the 10th Anniversary exhibition of THE MONSTERS. This initiative signifies a commitment to fostering partnerships with cultural and lifestyle organizations throughout Europe, further enhancing UnionPay's brand presence and establishing stronger connections with merchants, partners, and consumers.

Looking forward, UnionPay International plans to leverage its global network and localized service capabilities to work with partners in sectors such as culture, tourism, retail, and lifestyle. This will involve expanding cross-border payment applications and providing comprehensive and convenient payment experiences for cardholders worldwide while supporting international cultural exchanges and enhancing consumer connectivity.
