Event Details

The ORIGAMI CUP was officially launched in Japan in 2023, and this year, the event will take place for the third time in Tokyo, a city renowned for its specialty coffee scene. The venue will be the dotcom space Tokyo, an exciting café-style hub located in Harajuku, designed to encourage creative interaction and connection among coffee enthusiasts. With high ceilings and an open atmosphere, this space provides a perfect backdrop for enriching experiences during the ORIGAMI CUP.

- Entry Fee: 10,000 yen
- Participant Limit: 18 people (first-come, first-served)

3. 12:30 PM - Group 1 coffee bean selection
4. 1:00 PM - Competition begins
5. 3:10 PM - Semifinals
6. 3:50 PM - Wildcard draw
7. 4:00 PM - Finals
8. 4:20 PM - Results announcement and awards ceremony
9. 4:50 PM - Exhibition match with special guests
10. 6:00 PM - Conclusion and clean-up

Make sure to adhere to the precise timing for each segment of the event.

Rules of the Competition

- Required Equipment: ORIGAMI dripper, specified coffee beans, and water (Arima natural water)
- Permitted Equipment: Own ORIGAMI dripper, scales, kettles (only non-electric), manual grinders, and additional brewing aids (e.g., Paragon)
- Provided by Venue: ORIGAMI drippers (ceramic and Air), EK grinders, kettles, servers, paper filters, cupping bowls, and dripper trays
- Judging Process: No rehearsals; allot 5 minutes for preparation and 5 minutes for competition to yield at least 150ml of liquid. Judging will be conducted by three judges through a majority vote.
- Prize: Exciting prizes will be awarded, along with an exhibition match featuring special guests!
