In 2019, Cole's contributions to the industry were acknowledged when he was honored by the Society of Mining Engineers (SME) as the Miner of the Year. He is a member of SME and has served on the Board of Directors for Perpetua Resources since 2024, further showcasing his commitment and expertise in mining.
