MAHLE's Commitment to Innovation at the 2025 YOKOHAMA Event
MAHLE, a prominent global partner and supplier in the automotive industry, is set to participate in the "2025 Automotive Engineering Exposition YOKOHAMA" from May 21 to 23 at Pacifico Yokohama. This marks the company's 14th consecutive year of exhibiting at this significant automotive industry event, reflecting its unwavering commitment to the Japanese market. Naoki Yanagyu, the Chief Sales Officer for East Asia at MAHLE Group, emphasized, "Our mission is to meet all the needs of our customers both domestically and internationally from development to production."
This year's showcase will focus on three strategic areas:
electrification,
thermal management, and
high-efficiency sustainable internal combustion engines. At the exhibition, MAHLE will unveil new products and technologies designed to enhance performance and sustainability in the automotive sector.
In addition to the exhibition, MAHLE will also participate in the
2025 Spring Technical Conference, where they will present a lecture on the topic of “Improving Thermal Management Efficiency in Battery Electric Vehicles Using Bionic Design.” This event is scheduled for May 21, aiming to highlight innovative approaches to enhancing vehicle performance and efficiency.
Key Innovations on Display
At the event, MAHLE will spotlight several groundbreaking technologies:
- - MAHLE SCT (Superior Continuous Torque) Electric Motor: This electric motor is designed for unparalleled miniaturization, weight reduction, and efficiency improvements. The innovative integrated oil cooling system enhances the reliability and durability of the motor while enabling the entire vehicle system to utilize waste heat effectively.
- - Water Jacket: Designed for inverter cooling, this lightweight component incorporates insulated resin, allowing for significant cost reduction by integrating busbars into a single molded unit.
- - Thermal Management Module: This module simplifies the thermal management system by packaging essential components compactly, thereby eliminating the need for extensive piping and maximizing insulation and airtightness.
- - MAHLE Hydrogen Power Cell Unit (PCU): With experience in developing technologies for fuels like CNG and ethanol, MAHLE is actively supporting the development of hydrogen engines, which provide considerable advantages, particularly in large commercial vehicles.
As part of its commitment to a sustainable future, MAHLE views the diversity of technology as the key to accelerating the decarbonization of mobility. They offer a wide range of components and systems focusing on battery electric drives, hydrogen engines, fuel cell vehicles, and renewable fuels.
Insights from the Technical Conference
During the Spring Technical Conference, MAHLE's Head of Product Development, Hodaka Tsuchiya, will discuss the challenges of improving NV (noise and vibration) through the use of insights gained from natural forms, applying bionic design to enhance convenience in Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).
For over 50 years, MAHLE has established a significant presence in the Japanese market, serving as a vital regional headquarters to support both domestic and international operations for Japanese customers. As a “true Tier 1 supplier,” MAHLE is committed to consistently delivering high-quality support from the initial research and development phases right up to mass production.
