JR Hakata Station Introduces New Digital Signage for Innovative Advertising

JR Hakata Station Unveils New Digital Advertising Technology

On February 20, 2026, JR Hakata Station will see the debut of two new digital signage installations, marking a significant step in the evolution of Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising. In partnership with LIVE BOARD, these digital systems — the "Digital Twin (Central Ticket Gate)" and the "Ippin Street Digital 4-Screen Set" — will be connected to the LIVE BOARD Marketplace, enabling advertisers to optimize their outreach.

Previously, advertising sold through these digital displays operated on a set duration and frequency basis. However, with the integration of NTT Docomo’s location data and advanced analysis technologies, advertisers will now be able to utilize an impression-based sales model (VAC) that estimates the number of viewers likely to see an ad. This innovation provides a far more accurate metric for advertisers, allowing them to gauge the potential reach of their campaigns within the bustling environment of JR Hakata Station, which serves approximately 125,000 travelers daily.

Details on New Installations

Digital Twin (Central Ticket Gate)

Set near the station’s busiest entrance, this signage installation comprises two 65-inch screens. Positioned in a high-traffic area, it is expected to capture the attention of numerous commuters traveling to and from the station.

Ippin Street Digital 4-Screen Set

Adjacent to Ippin Street, home to various souvenir shops, this installation features four impressive 90-inch screens, the largest vertical displays available at JR Hakata Station.

  • - Start Date: February 20, 2026
  • - Size: 90 inches (H1,980 × W1,120 mm)
  • - Location: Ippin Street, JR Hakata Station
  • - Operating Hours: 6:00 AM - 12:00 AM (18 hours)

These new installations will complement existing screens in the station, thus providing an even greater variety of contact points for brands to engage with the station's large audience.
