Air France Moves to New Terminal One at New York-JFK

Starting next year, travelers flying with Air France will experience an enhanced journey as the airline transfers all its operations to the New Terminal One at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This significant change not only underscores the airline's commitment to improving customer service but also introduces a spectacular new lounge that spans an impressive 29,000 square feet—the largest in the airline's international network.

The new lounge is designed as a true reflection of the French art of travel, aiming to elevate the experience for La Première and Business class customers, along with Flying Blue Elite Plus members, and eligible travelers flying with KLM and other SkyTeam partner airlines. The workspace integrates elegance with functionality, making it a premium destination for discerning travelers.

Lounge Features

Designed in collaboration with the MARKS Brandimage design agency, the lounge will be spread across two levels and equipped with seating for over 400 guests. Inside, travelers can enjoy dining areas that showcase the best of French gastronomy and a bar focused on fine French wines and champagnes. Furthermore, features like dedicated beauty treatment areas, relaxation zones, and workspaces will ensure that all needs of travelers are met.

For La Première customers, a particular zone has been dedicated to providing a seamless and personalized experience from the moment they arrive at the New Terminal One until they board their aircraft. Exclusive dining options crafted by a renowned French chef will be available, ensuring guests relish exceptional culinary offerings.

Enhancing Passenger Experience

According to Nicolas Henin, Senior Vice President for North America at Air France-KLM, this transition signifies a major milestone—marking 80 years of service in New York. He emphasizes that the move to the New Terminal One, along with the launch of the luxurious lounge, will significantly enhance the premium travel experience. They are committed to showcasing the finest elements of Air France, where French hospitality and gastronomy will take center stage.

Jennifer Aument, CEO of the New Terminal One, expressed her excitement about welcoming Air France as a key tenant. She stated, "Air France's investment in our terminal's biggest lounge represents a strong vote of confidence in the seamless and modern travel experience we are building". Together, they aim to elevate loyalty among travelers in the crucial transatlantic market.

Air France's Ongoing Commitment

During the peak summer season, Air France operates up to 11 daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York, distributed between JFK and Newark airports. The airline has introduced up to six daily flights to JFK, featuring advanced Boeing 777-300ER aircraft equipped with the new La Première cabin. Additionally, the airline coordinates its operations with joint-venture partner Delta Air Lines to ensure smooth transatlantic connectivity.

The New Terminal One at JFK represents a transformative project aimed at establishing an international terminal that sets a new benchmark for design and service. Part of the Port Authority's transformative vision for JFK, this facility aspires to rank among the top five airports globally, promising a sustainable and guest-centric experience.

The consortium responsible for this ambitious venture includes Ferrovial, JLC Infrastructure, Ullico, and Carlyle, ensuring a future-focused terminal designed to enhance the overall guest experience with cutting-edge technology and ample natural light. With these developments, Air France and JFK's New Terminal One are poised to create a world-class travel experience, solidifying New York's standing as a premier global destination.
