Gelato Collection 2026: A Celebration of Craft Gelato
The highly anticipated event,
Gelato Collection 2026, is set to take place on
October 17 and 18, 2026, at the FMI Tokyo headquarters test kitchen. Organized by the
Japan Gelato Academy, this festival brings together renowned gelato artisans from across the country to share their culinary creations, philosophies, and groundbreaking techniques.
What distinguishes this event is its interactive approach. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste approximately
20 unique flavors of gelato at their leisure. Moreover, attendees will also participate as judges by voting for their favorite artisans, with the winning artisan earning the prestigious chance to represent Japan in a contest held in Italy the following January.
This year, voting will adopt a unique format where guests can select their top three artisans based not only on conventional taste and creaminess but also on the story behind the ingredients, regional influences, and the artisan's philosophy towards sustainability and quality. Last year’s voting rate was an impressive
97.5%, highlighting the engagement and enthusiasm that visitors have towards this event.
Event Highlights:
1.
All-You-Can-Eat Style: Taste creations from
10 artisanal gelato makers, sampling all available flavors.
