Daqo Unveils Innovative SF6-Free Distribution Solutions at The Smarter E Europe 2026

In July 2026, Daqo made a significant impact at The Smarter E Europe exhibition held in Munich, showcasing its groundbreaking distribution solutions that do not rely on SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride). As the European market accelerates the integration of renewable energy, energy storage systems, and electrification, project developers face mounting pressure to connect new energy sources and energy-intensive loads to the grid.

The highlight of Daqo's presentation was the introduction of its DQS Air range, an SF6-free circular switchgear unit. This innovative solution utilizes dry air insulation and vacuum switching technology, offering a reliable alternative to conventional SF6-based devices used for medium voltage distribution. Its compact and sealed design is aimed at reducing maintenance requirements, ensuring dependable operation in urban distribution networks, and connecting projects that harness renewable sources along with industrial facilities.

Also featured was Daqo's latest air-insulated switchgear (RMU), specifically designed for secondary distribution networks, which emphasizes flexible configuration and smart monitoring. This solution caters to clients seeking an environmentally friendly and manageable infrastructure for their electricity distribution needs.

For renewable energy and energy storage projects, Daqo unveiled its containerized solutions incorporating photovoltaic stations and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) substations. By combining boosting transformers, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, monitoring, and auxiliary systems into a factory-prepared unit, this solution aids developers and EPC (Energy Service Company) firms in minimizing site interfaces, simplifying coordination, and expediting the timeline between delivery and grid connection.

In energy-intensive sectors like data centers, Daqo presented DQMpower 2.0, a modular power solution integrating low-voltage distribution, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) functionalities, power quality management, and monitoring. This advanced solution enhances deployment efficiency, optimizes space within electrical panels, and improves operational visibility.

Daqo also showcased semiconductor transformer technology, recognized as a promising platform for flexible interactions between grids, loads, energy storage systems, and DC power systems. Kevin Lin, Daqo's CEO for the European region, emphasized the importance of ecological performance, reliability, and security of supply in projects related to energy infrastructure, stating, "Conversations with customers at the exhibition reaffirmed that the market prioritizes projects requiring greener equipment, faster grid connections, and greater supply certainty."

As part of its European strategy, Daqo is strengthening local coordination and its partnership network to provide customers with access to integrated technical packages, ensuring more transparent interfaces and robust delivery support. With 32 manufacturing facilities covering medium and low voltage equipment, transformers, automation, and system integration, Daqo is well-positioned to offer coordinated technical packages and improved deliveries for European clients.

Looking ahead, Daqo aims to collaborate with energy companies, developers, EPC firms, and industrial customers to foster cleaner, more reliable, and rapidly deployable energy infrastructures across Europe. This initiative underscores Daqo's commitment to meeting the challenges presented by the evolving energy landscape, paving the way for a sustainable future.
