Celebrating Artistic Innovation: The Winners of LG's 3D Digital Art Contest

Celebrating the Winners of LG's Wonderbox Showcase

In a world where creativity meets responsibility, LG Electronics USA has unveiled the winners of the third annual LG Wonderbox Showcase. This 3D digital art contest, tailored for college art students, aims to inspire environmental awareness and conservation through artistic expression. The winners were announced on July 21, 2025, during an episode of _Access Daily with Mario Kit_, where their innovative works were celebrated and showcased.

A Creative Approach to Conservation

This year's competition revolved around the theme Life’s Good When You Protect Wildlife, encouraging students to create original 3D anamorphic art that promotes a better future for the Earth and its inhabitants. The entries aimed to artistically highlight endangered and vulnerable species, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in digital realms that reveal compelling stories from nature.

Jeannie Lee, Director of Corporate Marketing at LG Electronics, expressed her excitement about the submissions, stating, "In this year's Wonderbox program, we witnessed an exciting blend of artistic talent and innovation." Her sentiments echo the essence of the showcase, which is rooted in optimism and creativity.

The Winners and Their Artworks

1st Place: Matthew Leung - LG x Sea Otter

Taking home the grand prize was Matthew Leung with his artwork titled, LG x Sea Otter. This stunning piece beautifully captures the serene environment of a sea otter's habitat while sending a crucial message about ocean pollution. Leung explained, "I wanted to show the negative impacts of pollution and demonstrate that the sea otter actually does its part by picking up a bottle and bringing it to the surface. To me, this embodies Life's Good, but it can't stay that way if we don't do our part too."

2nd Place: Ellesting Zhu, Dongmin Mok, and Zhiqi Liu - Don't Let Them Disappear

The second-place award went to the collaborative piece Don't Let Them Disappear from Zhu, Mok, and Liu. Their artwork centers around the endearing Yacare Caiman, highlighting the delicate balance between this species and the butterfly that has been seen interacting with it. The creators state their desire to protect these species facing serious threats from habitat destruction through their engaging artistic portrayal.

3rd Place: Vinh Vo - Hope for the Blue

Vinh Vo earned the third-place honor with Hope for the Blue. This evocative piece features a majestic blue whale navigating through the ruins of a city, guiding a young diver on a journey towards healing and unity. Vo eloquently commented that together, they symbolize hope, reflecting LG's vision for a compassionate future where life is truly good.

A Recognition of Talent

The Wonderbox Showcase not only celebrated these artists but also offered substantial cash prizes to the winners. Leung received $25,000, the collaborative team was awarded $10,000, and Vo took home $5,000. In addition, the grand prize winner received an exclusive LG tech bundle, which includes the LG CineBeam Q 4K UHD Projector and the LG Smart Monitor Swing—a testament to LG's commitment to fostering creativity through technology.

Looking to the Future

The gallery of remarkable talent displayed throughout the contest speaks volumes about the potential of artistic innovation in advocating for environmental awareness.
