Campbell Global's Acquisition of Emerald Ridge Timberland

In a significant move within the timberland investment sector, Campbell Global, LLC, the timberland investment manager of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, has announced its acquisition of the Emerald Ridge property, located in Oregon's Pacific Northwest. This acquisition encompasses approximately 28,200 acres (11,400 hectares) of prime timberland, strategically situated across the north coastal and Willamette Valley regions of Oregon.

Commitment to Sustainability and Local Communities

Emerald Ridge is a remarkable property, housing around 8.5 million trees of various species and ages. Among these are Western Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce, Red Cedar, and Red Alder. The management of Emerald Ridge will adhere to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative standards, reinforcing Campbell Global's commitment to responsible environmental stewardship. This initiative not only focuses on sustainable forest management but also aims to create living wage job opportunities for residents in nearby rural communities.

The area boasts more than 365 miles (584 kilometers) of streams, with 70 miles (112 kilometers) specifically dedicated to supporting fish populations. Additionally, approximately 3,100 acres (1,291 hectares) of streamside buffers have been established to protect water quality. The acquisition significantly contributes to preserving a diverse array of wildlife habitats, incorporating 390 acres for endangered species including the northern spotted owl, bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, and marbled murrelet.

Angela Davis, the Managing Director and CEO of Campbell Global, commented on the transaction, expressing her enthusiasm: "We are pleased to be adding Emerald Ridge to our portfolio. Oregon is home to some of the highest quality forestland in the world, and this transaction demonstrates our team's expertise and ability to acquire top-tier properties on behalf of our investors."
