Elleair's Smiling Touch Project

Elleair, a leading brand in hygiene paper products, has recently completed a significant initiative in partnership with Heiwado Co., Ltd. This collaboration marks the third installment of the 'Smiling Touch Project,' aimed at enriching children's lives and fostering community well-being in Shiga Prefecture.

The Smiling Touch Project is founded on the principle of enhancing happiness and smiles through meaningful connections. Recognizing the diminishing personal interactions in today's world, Elleair launched this initiative in April 2022, focusing on the importance of 'essential touch' — a term that encapsulates both physical and emotional interactions.

Between February 1 and March 31, 2025, during the 'A Little Goodness Campaign,' a portion of the sales from Elleair's products at Heiwado stores was donated to the Children’s Smile Nurturing Project, led by the Shiga Prefectural Council of Social Welfare. This project empowers local communities, emphasizing the significance of nurturing smiles through initiatives such as community meal programs for children and creating safe spaces for their interaction.

In total, this campaign has raised an impressive 1,281,808 yen, contributing to an overall support fund of 3,441,121 yen since inception. These funds are pivotal in enhancing interactions within families and communities, fostering environments where children can thrive.

On May 30, 2025, a donation ceremony took place at Otsu City Hall, attended by key representatives from both Elleair and Heiwado, as well as Shiga's welfare council members. The ceremony showcased the gratitude towards the efforts made and the commitment to continuing this essential support for children.

As of April 30, 2025, there are 234 food assistance locations and 20 safe spaces for children across Shiga Prefecture.
