KAILAS Becomes Main Sponsor of the FWT China Series for 2026/27 Season
KAILAS Becomes Main Sponsor of FWT China Series
On October 14, 2026, KAILAS launched the 2026/27 skiing season with a spectacular event in Guangzhou called BEYOND THE GATE | KAILAS SNOW SEASON OPENING NIGHT. This event not only celebrated the advent of winter sports but also marked a significant milestone for KAILAS as it announced its role as the main sponsor for the Freeride World Tour (FWT) China Series. This partnership aims to elevate the experience of freeride skiing in China.
During the event, KAILAS's founder, Zhong Sir, shared the vision behind the sponsorship, emphasizing KAILAS’s dedication to promoting freeride skiing. The FWT China Series will feature four qualifying events set to take place at the Jikepulin Ski Resort in Hemu, Altay (Xinjiang), from December 9-15, 2026, and February 26 - March 3, 2027. This initiative not only establishes a competitive platform for Chinese riders but also integrates them into the international freeride circuit.
In contrast to skiing on groomed pistes, freeride skiing occurs in untouched natural terrains. This type of skiing challenges athletes to assess snow conditions, select their descent lines, and navigate the mountain based on their skills and risk evaluation capabilities. KAILAS aims to foster a broader skiing community through their BEYOND THE GATE initiative, which connects skiers with mountain culture, professionals, and shared experiences, enriching their overall skiing journey.
KAILAS’s ongoing commitment is reflected in its product development and testing in real mountain environments. Last season, the brand showcased its BM45 freeride collection in Hemu, ensuring gear efficacy in snow conditions. The launch also introduced the TAIGA ski apparel line, designed specifically for extreme cold conditions. This innovative collection features weatherproof materials, thermal insulation, breathability zones, helmet-compatible hoods, snow skirts, and RECCO® technology, which aids in locating users during avalanche emergencies or if they become lost on the mountain.
To help skiers gain confidence in the mountains, KAILAS plans to collaborate with professional guides and avalanche safety specialists to offer clinics, safety training, and avenues for experience exchange. They are expanding their offerings at locations like Songhua Lake and Hemu, connecting skiers with local guides, providing equipment advice, courses, safety sessions, and community activities.
Through competition partnerships, technical equipment development, and on-site services, KAILAS strives to foster the growth of freeride skiing in China. Their objective is not just to facilitate competitions but to empower skiers to explore mountains with the right knowledge, preparation, and respect for the environment. As KAILAS embarks on this exciting season in freeride skiing, they invite more enthusiasts to join in and embrace the beauty and challenge of the outdoors.
