Empowering Women: Japan Women's Foundation Launches Crowdfunding for Health Initiatives

Japan Women’s Foundation Launches New Crowdfunding Campaign for Women’s Health

The Japan Women’s Foundation (JWF), based in Chiyoda, is set to embark on its fourth crowdfunding initiative starting June 15, 2026. This project aims to address pressing health issues faced by women as well as broader social challenges. With a target funding goal of 3 million yen, the campaign is seeking support to realize a vision where all women can live healthily, thrive, and actively participate in society.

Project Overview

The campaign is primarily focused on three key areas:
1. Providing Medical Support: Ensuring access to healthcare for women who face barriers, including:
- Initial pregnancy consultations
- Emergency contraceptive support
- Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Assistance for unexpected pregnancies
- Contraceptive support (including pills and IUDs)

2. Expanding Community Networks: Collaborating with medical professionals, welfare organizations, and educational institutions to:
- Promote accurate knowledge regarding STIs
- Strengthen support networks for unexpected pregnancies
- Develop regional collaboration models

3. Recognition and Visibility: Honoring organizations and companies engaged in women’s support and sharing exemplary case studies widely.

This initiative is critical, especially considering the sobering reality that women facing these issues often find themselves isolated. The JWF recognizes that women’s health problems are societal issues rather than merely personal challenges. Factors such as a lack of comprehensive sex education and inadequate support systems contribute to the widespread nature of these issues.

Prior Achievements

Since its establishment in 2020, the JWF has made significant strides in supporting women’s health. With the funding received from three previous campaigns, the foundation has assisted 1,929 women as of April 23, 2026. Over the years, the JWF has successfully launched initiatives encompassing:
  • - Medical support programs
  • - Community networking platforms that connect healthcare and welfare services
  • - Training programs for medical professionals focusing on women’s health concerns
  • - Advocacy efforts to raise awareness and celebrate organizations supporting women’s rights

During this crowdfunding campaign, we are hoping to continue our mission of bringing substantial change and relief to women across Japan.

Social Importance and Future Goals

The JWF believes that issues such as domestic violence, sexual violence, STIs, and unplanned pregnancies should be confronted as social challenges. Young women, often lacking reliable adults or mentors, are particularly vulnerable. Many find themselves in precarious situations without access to the appropriate resources or care. Thus, our efforts through this crowdfunding initiative are aimed essentially not only to provide support but also to advance policy changes and social awareness.

As we prepare to launch this campaign, we invite everyone to join us in creating a society where women do not face challenges alone. Our primary goal is to ensure that no woman ever feels helpless, financially burdened, or lost regarding an unexpected pregnancy.

Join Us in Making a Difference

The Japan Women’s Foundation is calling for everyone’s support and collaboration. Together we can empower women, enhance access to healthcare, and create a sustainable network of support.
