Celebrating Dr. Marshall S. Flam's Lifetime Achievement

Flam, MD, FACP, by naming him a 2025 Pinnacle Lifetime Member, a recognition that reflects his outstanding contributions in the fields of Hematology and Oncology. Over his impressive 40-year career, Dr. Flam has exemplified dedication to patient care through innovative research and compassionate healthcare practices.
Dr. Flam's academic journey began at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he received his Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences and Molecular Biology. His medical training culminated in an MD from the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University. He completed his residency at NYU-Bellevue Hospital, followed by additional training at the University of Colorado. His prestigious fellowships in Clinical Hematology and Clinical Oncology were completed at the University of Utah and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, respectively.
Being recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians highlights Dr. Flam's commitment to medical excellence. His contributions do not just end there; he has also been an active member in prominent organizations including the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). His service as President and Laboratory Director of the Hematology and Oncology Medical Group of Fresno signifies his leadership in the medical community. Furthermore, he has held critical roles in the United States Air Force as Director of Hematology and Oncology and has served as a Medical Consultant to NASA for Project Skylab, showcasing his versatility and contribution to advanced research.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Flam has made significant strides in medical education. He has taught as an Instructor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. His dedication to education is evident, as he has co-authored 65 scientific papers and contributed to a textbook that has become instrumental in the field of oncology.
