ZOE Energy Storage and Saudi Partnership to Establish First-Class Battery Manufacturing Facility
ZOE Energy Storage Partners with Local Saudi Ally for Battery Manufacturing Facility
ZOE Energy Storage has announced a significant joint venture with a local Saudi partner aimed at constructing the nation's first world-class battery energy storage system manufacturing facility. This groundbreaking project symbolizes a vital progression towards fulfilling Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative, which seeks to diversify the economy and reduce the dependency on oil.
Project Overview
The facility is set to be developed in two distinct phases. The first phase, set to commence production in the first quarter of 2027, will have an initial capacity of 6 GWh. Following this, phase two will expand the production capacity to 18 GWh. This expansion not only marks a pivotal step in establishing large-scale localized energy storage solutions but significantly reduces the Kingdom's reliance on imported technologies.
Once fully operational, the manufacturing base is anticipated to be a critical piece in helping Saudi Arabia achieve its goals, which include generating 130 GW from renewable sources, establishing 48 GWh of energy storage capacity, and achieving 50% clean energy generation. This industrial synergy signals a crucial shift for Saudi Arabia, transforming it from a tradition-bound energy giant into a global hub for clean energy equipment manufacture.
Compliance with Standards
The facility spans 150 acres and is designed to adhere to the highest European manufacturing standards, obtaining
