HONOR Showcases Commitment to Open Collaboration at MWC Barcelona 2025
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona in March 2025, global tech giant HONOR participated in two engaging discussions centered around the future of technology. These discussions included the Connect X Fireside Chat and a panel titled AI+. During these sessions, HONOR joined industry leaders to share insights on the interconnected smart future.
The overarching theme of these discussions was the urgent need for open collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities posed by advancing AI technologies. This aligns with the company's newly unveiled HONOR ALPHA PLAN, which emphasizes working together with partners to harness human potential in the adoption of an intelligent world.
"As we transition into the physical AI era, we must dismantle industry boundaries and co-create a new paradigm for the AI ecosystem," said James Li, the CEO of HONOR. He highlighted that this can be achieved by unlocking AI capabilities across sectors, providing platforms for a broader array of devices, enabling seamless collaboration across various operating systems, and establishing a value-sharing ecosystem.
The discussions also focused on evolving beyond approximate connectivity to create intelligent ecosystems that actively respond to user needs. HONOR articulated a vision where technology anticipates and simplifies daily tasks, citing seamless integration of smartphones with vehicles and smart homes, alongside wearable devices that deliver personalized health information. The HONOR ALPHA PLAN is central to this vision, underscoring the company's commitment to fostering human-centered design innovations that interweave cutting-edge technology with productivity, society, and culture.
Furthermore, the critical role of collaboration in driving innovation and ensuring interoperability was emphasized during the informal discussions. HONOR acknowledged the pressing need for cooperation in standard-setting and unreservedly promotes open collaboration with leading firms to develop unified standards and solutions for AI connectivity.
As AI technology paves the way for a more integrated future and the industry evolves, the collective effort to create an open and intelligent ecosystem becomes increasingly vital. This is particularly pertinent as more industry players navigate the complexities of the changing tech landscape.
In addition, during the AI+ panel, HONOR shared insights that highlighted the balance between device-based AI and cloud AI, accentuating the necessity of distinguishing these roles clearly. With examples like the world’s first AI-powered mobile agent featuring a graphical user interface, and the introduction of AiMAGE - all unveiled in HONOR’s latest keynote - the company illustrated how it prioritizes user privacy through device-based processes while intelligently leveraging cloud capabilities for their extensive computational offerings without compromising data security.
HONOR’s approach to user privacy was further reinforced by the recently published Privacy White Paper, which outlines five principles the company adheres to in safeguarding user data: data minimization, protection of sensitive data on devices, device-first processing, anonymization and encryption before cloud transmission, and data deletion once it has served its purpose.
Concluding their statements, HONOR reiterated the importance of breaking down barriers for a smart future and called upon industry partners to unite. The company remains steadfast in executing the HONOR ALPHA PLAN while collaborating with industry partners through open cooperation.
