Mars Welcomes Myriah Gambrell-Glenn as New General Counsel for Snacking Division

Mars Appoints Myriah Gambrell-Glenn as General Counsel for Snacking

In a significant move for its Snacking division, Mars, Incorporated has announced the appointment of Myriah Gambrell-Glenn as General Counsel, effective December 1, 2025. Mars, a leading global player in confectionery and pet care, entrusts Gambrell-Glenn with leading the legal function critical to the brand's billion-dollar product lines. Based in Chicago, her expertise will support brands like M&M's and Snickers while reporting to Andrew Clarke, President of Mars Snacking, along with a liaison to Stefanie Straub, corporate secretary for Mars Incorporated.

Having held a variety of senior legal roles within Mars since 2010, Gambrell-Glenn brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her recent success as the General Counsel for Mars Pet Nutrition illustrates her capability in navigating complex acquisitions, including the integrations of Champion Petfoods and Pretty Litter—multi-billion dollar companies acquired in 2023 and 2021, respectively.

Andrew Clarke expressed confidence in Gambrell-Glenn's ability to lead in this challenging environment, stating, “Myriah's pedigree speaks for itself. She has built an outstanding track record at Mars, combining deep legal expertise with strategic insight. Just as importantly, she is a dedicated people leader who has a keen ability to spot potential and turn it into performance.” This sentiment underscores the critical combination of legal knowledge and leadership skills Gambrell-Glenn brings at a time when Mars is expanding its global footprint amid intricate legal landscapes.

In her new capacity, she will oversee legal strategy, compliance, and risk management for a workforce of over 34,000 employees operating in more than 150 countries. Furthermore, with over 1,000 snacks sold every second, the need for robust legal governance in support of innovation and rapid growth becomes essential.

“Myriah will serve as a member of both the Mars Snacking Leadership Team and the Mars Legal Leadership Team,” noted Clarke, confirming the significance of her role in not just legal affairs but also in strategic business development as the company looks to strengthen its snack sector.

In her own words, Gambrell-Glenn reflects on the pivotal moment she steps into, stating, “It's clear to me our legal team is uniquely positioned to be a strategic partner by enabling and accelerating our snacking growth agenda—creating the conditions for innovation to flourish at speed and scale while driving strong governance.” This indicates her vision to synchronize legal frameworks with the fast-paced nature of the snacking industry while fostering a productive workplace environment.

The appointment of Gambrell-Glenn not only highlights Mars' commitment to exceptional governance but also signifies an intention to mitigate risks as the business evolves in increasingly complicated regulatory climates. In a world where businesses must navigate varying laws and regulations across different regions, having someone like Gambrell-Glenn in leadership enhances Mars' ability to adapt and thrive.
