In a groundbreaking event that brought together sports and technology, BingX, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, hosted the BingX Pickleball Open Tour 2025 in Vietnam. The Rise of Pickleball
Pickleball, the exciting sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, has been rapidly gaining popularity worldwide. It's played on a badminton-sized court with paddles and a special perforated plastic ball. The sport's accessibility and social appeal have led to a surge in its following, particularly in regions like Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia. Influenced by social media and rising trends, pickleball's growth is evident, and events like the BingX Pickleball Open further boost its presence.
An Engaging Competition
The event featured an impressive total prize pool of 400 million VND, distributed across various competitive formats, including Web3 Mixed Doubles and Open Men's Doubles. Winners of different categories were rewarded not just with cash, but with pickleball gear, luggage, and other exclusive sponsored gifts by BingX. To foster inclusivity, the tournament utilized competition brackets based on Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR), accommodating both casual players and seasoned athletes.
Specific categories included Women's Doubles 5.5 and Mixed Doubles Open, allowing a spectrum of participants from diverse skill levels to join, emphasizing the tournament's community-focused approach. The event celebrated 42 champions and attracted notable figures such as Nathan Willis, Sophia Phuong Anh, and Jessie Luong, adding a star-studded flair to the competitive atmosphere.
Community-Centric Goals
According to Alex Nguyen, BingX's spokesperson in Vietnam, the goal was to create an environment where BingX users could connect in real life and share interests beyond cryptocurrency trading. The event served as a melting pot for traders, athletes, and sports fans, fostering community spirit through shared experiences.
