Celebrating 33 Years of Empowerment: REACH LA's Annual Gala
On February 15, 2024, REACH LA will host its highly anticipated 3rd Annual Celebration Gala at Union Station in Los Angeles. This event, which brings together around 350 members from the LGBTQIA+ community, promises not only to honor three outstanding individuals but also to raise vital funds for the organization’s mental health and creative arts programs.
Honorees of the Evening
This year, REACH LA will present notable awards to the influential entertainer and activist Peppermint, the talented singer-songwriter Jessica Betts, and the impactful social media activist Blair Imani.
Peppermint: Trans Vanguard Award Recipient
Peppermint, a groundbreaking entertainer and advocate for transgender rights, is set to receive the prestigious Trans Vanguard Award. She made history as the first trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway and has utilized her platform to advocate for greater representation and inclusivity for the transgender community. Peppermint will also host the gala's afterparty, aptly named The Peppermint Lounge. In her words, her mission is to foster understanding about the experiences of the trans community and promote intersectionality.
Jessica Betts: Award for Artistic Impact
Jessica Betts, known for her inspiring contributions to music and LGBTQ+ representation, will be honored with the Artistic Impact Award. Her lyrics resonate with the community, as she incorporates her personal experiences into her songwriting, which often reflects themes of healing and empowerment. Jessica's portrayal of Black love and LGBTQ+ representation with her wife, Niecy Nash, has made a significant impact both in the music industry and beyond.
Blair Imani: Activist with Impact Award
Blair Imani, famed for her viral education series and bestselling works, will receive the Activist with Impact Award. She shares her passion for making complex topics accessible through her advocacy for social justice and LGBTQIA+ representation. In addressing the honor, Imani shared that this recognition validates her ongoing educational efforts and commitment to her community.
Purpose Beyond Celebration

With an emphasis on holistic care, REACH LA aims to empower individuals through artistic expression and wellness initiatives.
