MSA Safety Unveils Innovative Portable Detection Solution at A+A Trade Fair in Europe

MSA Safety Launches ALTAIR io™ 6 at A+A Trade Fair

MSA Safety, a leading global provider of safety products, officially showcased its latest innovation, the ALTAIR io™ 6 multigas detector, during the 2025 A+A International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. This new portable detection solution is tailored to address the pressing needs of workers across construction, manufacturing, and energy sectors, enabling them to operate safely with the right equipment in demanding conditions.

A Groundbreaking Solution for Worker Safety

The ALTAIR io™ 6 is a six-gas detector designed for confined space monitoring and sampling, marking a significant advancement in MSA’s Connected Work Platform. What sets this device apart is its cellular connectivity, making it the first of its kind from MSA that includes an integrated pump for enhanced functionality. The device also boasts highly visible screens, removable rechargeable batteries, and a compact design suitable for handheld or wearable use.

In conjunction with the existing ALTAIR io™ 4, which emphasizes personal continuous monitoring, the ALTAIR io™ 6 is adept at proactively sampling environments and providing crucial data before entering confined spaces. Both devices are designed to work seamlessly together, leveraging a shared user interface and MSA Grid software, which facilitates easy integration into existing safety monitoring fleets.

Real-Time Insights for Enhanced Safety Management

By utilizing the MSA Grid, safety managers can access real-time information on device locations, alerts, and data from individual devices or entire fleets. This feature not only enhances safety management on-site but also supports a connected work experience, essential for optimizing safety protocols in various work environments.

Dave Howells, President of MSA International, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation in safety solutions, stating, “Our goal is to improve worker safety by developing innovative solutions, allowing our clients to enhance protection, compliance, and efficiency.”

As part of the A+A Fair, MSA Safety is also showcasing a range of products designed to bolster workplace safety, such as:
