A Step Towards Sustainable Energy Management
In a significant advancement in energy management, Wakaayama Noh-Kyo Food Industry Co., Ltd (WNS) and Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Co., Ltd (TGES) have announced a fundamental agreement to introduce the onsite energy service 'Battery Advance' at WNS's Chiba factory. This innovative service will integrate lithium-ion batteries and TGES's advanced energy management system, HelioNet Advance, to optimize energy use and consumption within the factory.
Integration of Innovative Technology
The service will install a lithium-ion battery storage system with a capacity of approximately 4,000 kWh, along with the HelioNet Advance system. This advanced management system combines energy usage data, electric market conditions, and the output of existing solar energy systems to autonomously control the energy flow between the lithium-ion battery and the existing gas cogeneration system (CGS). This comprehensive control aims to reduce peak power demand and maximize the use of renewable energy within the facility, significantly optimizing overall energy management.
This will mark TGES's first integrated control of both batteries and CGS, highlighting a major milestone in the company's journey toward sustainable energy solutions. The operational launch of this service is scheduled for 2027.
System Overview
The energy-related equipment set up at the Chiba factory includes:
- - Li-ion Battery - Newly installed with a capacity of 4,000 kWh and a power conditioning system of approximately 1,000 kW.
- - Gas Cogeneration System - Two machines already in place, providing a total capacity of 370 kW.
- - Solar Power System - An existing system with a capacity of 900 kW.
Corporate Commitment to Sustainability
Through this collaborative effort, WNS and TGES are deepening their energy management initiatives and promoting further integration of renewable energy sources, thereby contributing to decarbonization and the realization of a sustainable society.
WNS's Sustainable Practices
WNS is dedicated to sustainable development by delivering high-quality beverages made from local agricultural products. The company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through the use of renewable energy, such as solar power and biomass boilers, in addition to its energy-saving activities that minimize environmental impact.
TGES's Role in Sustainability
Operating under the 'IGNITURE' brand, TGES aims to support corporate clients in achieving sustainable and smart operations through solutions like Battery Advance. By leveraging their accumulated expertise, TGES continues to provide various solutions that contribute to decarbonization, optimization, and resilience in business practices, enhancing societal sustainability.
Through these innovative initiatives, WNS and TGES are setting a new standard in energy management and sustainability practices, aiming to inspire other industries to embrace renewable technologies for a greener future.
