AM Green and DP World Collaborate to Position India as a Global Green Molecules Hub

AM Green and DP World Join Forces to Make India a Global Leader in Green Molecules

In a landmark partnership, AM Green, a prominent player in the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, has joined forces with DP World, a global leader in logistics, to establish India as a significant hub for sustainable fuels and chemicals. This collaboration is particularly focused on enabling the export of 2 million tons per annum (MTPA) of green fuels, thereby positioning India at the forefront of worldwide decarbonization initiatives.

A Commitment to Sustainability

On January 14, 2025, AM Green and DP World announced their plans under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) inked in December. The deal outlines a strategy to develop robust logistics and storage infrastructures necessary for the global export of 1 MTPA of green ammonia and another 1 MTPA of green methanol. The foundation of this initiative revolves around leveraging infrastructure in net-zero emission industrial clusters cultivated by AM Green.

As part of this endeavor, the two companies will:
  • - Build port infrastructure to streamline global exports from AM Green's facilities.
  • - Establish fuel supply infrastructures across key regions such as Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia.
  • - Create strategically located terminals across the European Union, Far East, and the UAE, facilitating a zero-carbon supply chain that supports the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Leveraging Renewable Energy Sources

AM Green is committed to utilizing renewable energy sources—solar, wind, and hydroelectric power—to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), green ammonia, green hydrogen, chemicals, and biofuels. By 2030, the company aims to achieve a production capacity of 5 MTPA, significantly contributing to India’s net-zero emissions goals and global decarbonization efforts. The company has already made a final investment decision on a green ammonia plant with a capacity of 1 MTPA in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Mahesh Kolli, founder of AM Green, expressed enthusiasm about the project, saying, "We are dedicated to supporting India's ambition to become a green energy exporter. This partnership with DP World allows us to build world-class infrastructure to facilitate the global movement of green molecules, thus enhancing the global green supply chain."

DP World’s Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Yuvraj Narayan, Deputy CEO and Group CFO of DP World, stated the company's mission to play a crucial role in the future of global trade, ensuring a lasting positive impact on economies and societies. "Partnering with AM Green not only helps us harness our logistics and infrastructure expertise but also enables us to facilitate the global distribution of clean fuels and chemicals, thereby contributing to a low-carbon economy."
