Exploring the Allure and Potential of Art Collection with Shinwa Art Salon

Exploring the Allure and Potential of Art Collection

On July 28, a groundbreaking event titled 'Exploring the Allure and Potential of Art Collection' will take place at the Shinwa Art Salon, organized by Shinwa ARTEX, a subsidiary of Shinwa Wise Holdings, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This event aims to broaden the appreciation and enjoyment of art collections as they invite members of the public to explore the captivating world of art.

Since its inception in July 2020, Shinwa ARTEX has aimed to enhance the experience of art through its member service, 'Shinwa Asset Formation Art Salon.' This upcoming salon will mark the first public event, allowing a wider audience to partake in discussions about the pleasures and potentials of art collection.

The event will feature a prominent moderator, Kaori Iwasaki, known for her innovative 'Art Branch' initiative, which showcases contemporary art in banking environments—a first in Japan's financial sector. Joining her will be notable panelists, including Makoto Takeuchi, an influential entrepreneur and art collector, and Koichi Morota, a dedicated 'salaryman collector' who actively engages with artists. Together, they will share insights on the charm of art collections and their societal and cultural implications.

Meet the Moderator

Kaori Iwasaki grew up in a family that nurtured a passion for art, often visiting various art destinations both domestically and abroad. Her fascination with art flourished after purchasing a work by Kohei Nawa at Art Basel, igniting her journey as an art collector. Through her connections with art professionals worldwide, Iwasaki recognized the potential for enriching Japan's artistic market and has been diligently working to promote it. In 2019, she initiated the 'Art Branch' project at SMBC Trust Bank in Nihonbashi, followed by the establishment of THE ART organization in 2021.

Meet the Panelists

Makoto Takeuchi, born in 1978, began his career at Fujisoft, where he worked on software development for governmental and major telecommunications clients. After transitioning to freelancing and playing an integral role in the founding of BizReach, he currently holds several executive positions, including CTO at Visionar and board member of the Japan CTO Association. He has also ventured into the fine dining scene in the Tokyo metropolitan area and showcased his modern art collection at 'WHAT MUSEUM' in 2023.

Meanwhile, Koichi Morota, a graduate of the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Agriculture, has worked for major firms like Accenture and Mizuho Securities. Currently at Enalis, a telecommunications and energy company, Morota is also an active art collector, generously lending works to institutions like the Mori Art Museum and continuously engaging in the arts community.
