Recognition and Appreciation of Support for Healthcare
On October 26, 2025, the Japan Management Research Institute (JMRI) announced that its president, Tomonori Tomura, was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Tokyo Nursing Association. The presentation took place during the third Platinum Nurse Seminar held on October 25, 2025, at the Tokyo Nurse Plaza, an operation by the Tokyo metropolitan government.
In recognition of Tomura's efforts in the nursing profession, the appreciation was granted by Reiko Yanagibashi, the president of the Tokyo Nursing Association, and presented by Mitsugi Okazaki, director of the Tokyo Nurse Plaza. This seminar, titled “Creating Beloved Seniors: The Life and Work of Radiant Nurses,” focused on employment support for nurses and was held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online participation.
The Significance of the Seminar
This event highlighted the integral role that nurses play in society, particularly during times of crisis, such as natural disasters. Tomura's opening remarks underscored the critical contributions of healthcare professionals and the impact that community support can have on their invaluable work.
Reflecting on his relationship with the nursing community, Tomura shared that his journey began years ago when he taught a second-level management course for nurse leaders. This exposure solidified his commitment to supporting nursing professionals, which later included marrying a nurse and gaining deeper insight into the field.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he took significant steps to aid healthcare workers across Japan, organizing the distribution of masks and personal protective equipment to facilities that were facing shortages. These acts of support exemplified his ongoing dedication to the healthcare community and its members.
Future Aspirations
In his acceptance remarks following the award presentation, Tomura emphasized his unwavering gratitude to the Tokyo Nursing Association and all healthcare workers. He reiterated his desire to continue supporting the community, stating that he considers it his duty to lend assistance wherever possible. Furthermore, he expressed his commitment to furthering social contributions through collaborations with nursing associations and other healthcare organizations.
Tomura's role extends beyond operational management at JMRI; he aims to be a resource for nursing professionals, encouraging them to reach out for support as needed. Drawing from his personal and professional experiences, he sees immense value in fostering relationships within the healthcare field.
