Subaru of America Reports Vehicle Sales for October 2025 with Crosstrek Leading Again

On November 3, 2025, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) unveiled its vehicle sales figures for October 2025, showing a total of 51,036 vehicles sold for the month. This marks a year-to-date sales count of 534,073, which reflects a decrease of 2.6 percent compared to the previous year. Despite this overall decline, the Crosstrek model stands out as a bright spot in the report. It was the best-selling vehicle for the sixth consecutive month, achieving its best October sales ever, with 16,284 units sold, representing a 2.2 percent increase from October 2024.

Following closely behind the Crosstrek, the Outback recorded sales of 13,441 units during the same month, while the Forester reached 12,769 sold. Jeff Walters, the President and COO of Subaru of America, commented on this performance, highlighting the crucial role played by dedicated retailers and loyal customers in achieving sales over the 50,000 mark for the month of October. Walters further expressed excitement over the shift of Forester production from Japan to Subaru's Indiana plant, enhancing the availability of U.S.-built Subaru vehicles.

Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales, emphasized a noteworthy month-over-month gain in market share, crediting Subaru's retailers for their commitment to meeting customer needs with exceptional care and expertise. As the automotive landscape evolves, Subaru's transition towards new models, including the Crosstrek Hybrid and the upcoming all-new 2026 Outback, aims to reinforce their commitment to customer satisfaction and diverse offerings.

When examining the specifics of the sales performance across different models, the Ascent saw a decline of 14.9% with 3,747 units sold compared to the previous year's October. The BRZ experienced a significant drop of 50.1%, with only 182 units sold in October 2025. The Impreza and the WRX also faced declines, the former seeing a 17.5% decrease to 2,063 units, and the latter plunging 56% to 720 units sold.

In contrast, the Legacy model achieved a modest gain of 9.4%, with a total of 1,817 units sold, while the Outback sustained nearly flat sales with a slight 1% decrease. The Solterra electric vehicle, however, faced a massive drop, with sales plummeting by 98.8% to just 13 units.

While the overall numbers indicate a slight reduction in sales across the board, the strong performance of models like the Crosstrek highlights potential growth areas for Subaru as they continue to innovate and expand their vehicle lineup. The consistent performance of the Crosstrek—a model cherished for its blend of versatility and reliability—illustrates Subaru's strong market presence and brand loyalty among consumers. Moving forward, the company is poised to capitalize on its established strengths while addressing areas that show potential for improvement.
