The highly anticipated flower event,
Meet with Flowers in TOKYO YNK 2026, is set to transform the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi districts from March 18 to April 5, 2026. Launched in 2021, this year marks its sixth edition, where a series of floral activities and exhibitions will take place across 20 locations in the YNK area, aimed at engaging both visitors and office workers.
Event Overview
The
Meet with Flowers initiative aims to revive and promote Japan's unique floral culture, deeply rooted in the history of the YNK district, once known for its thriving Edo culture and arts. In the past, this bustling urban area, home to over a million residents, became a melting pot for merchants and artisans, fostering a vibrant floral culture that was frequently noted by foreign visitors. Today, the event not only showcases the beauty of flowers but also seeks to create a dialogue about their significance in contemporary society.
Key Features of the Event

As part of the ongoing commitment to promote domestic floriculture, around 11,000 vibrant gerbera will be distributed free of charge in 15 locations across the YNK area. This initiative aims to rekindle interest in locally grown flowers during a period of declining consumption, encouraging people to reconnect with the joy that flowers bring to everyday life.
2. Ikebana Project: “ism.”
A highlight of the event will be an exhibition featuring ten emerging ikebana artists, showcasing contemporary arrangements as art pieces. Inspired by the visionary spirit of So Fukuhara, the founder of the Sogetsu school of ikebana, this project aims to explore the innovative potential of ikebana in modern contexts.
