Yutong Launches Its First Comprehensive Service Center in Europe

On September 8, Yutong Bus celebrated the grand opening of its first service center in Europe, situated in Stokke, Norway. This facility marks a significant milestone for the company as it integrates essential services such as vehicle delivery, after-sales support, spare parts supply, and professional training under one roof covering approximately 38,941 square meters. Among its 6,074 square meters designated for building structures is a spare parts warehouse measuring 2,300 square meters.

As Norway progresses towards an electric public transport system, this service center is poised to enhance maintenance capabilities, compliance inspections, and local service responsiveness for fully electric buses. The center aims to streamline service delivery, offering a more direct service option while providing systematic support throughout the fleet's lifecycle.

Jack Li, CEO of Yutong for Central and Northern Europe, stated, "The service center is designed to serve as a comprehensive and centralized hub, stocked with a wide inventory of spare parts, inspection facilities, professional workshops, and specialized training equipment. Through efficient operations, we aim to help reduce the total cost of ownership for our clients while maximizing bus uptime. By strengthening partnerships and expanding service coverage, we strive to offer cost-effective services and create shared value, contributing to a greener, smarter, and more inclusive public transport system."

The service center consolidates multifaceted service functions and complements existing local partners and service channels. It provides a complete service package for clients, ensuring that all aspects from vehicle sales and deliveries to post-sale repairs, spare parts supply, and technical training are covered. Key features include seven standardized maintenance bays designed to handle routine repairs and specialized areas for component repairs, each equipped with advanced tools like four-column lifts and electronic wheel alignment systems. The facility can manage maintenance tasks related to chassis, electrical systems, transmissions, air conditioning, and interior repairs, even accommodating vehicles that have experienced minor accidents.

Adhering to EU standards, the center is equipped with its own dedicated bus inspection line that facilitates the mandatory annual inspections required in Norway. With a 31.5-meter inspection pit, it ensures thorough checks on chassis, braking systems, safety devices, and compliance with regulations for propulsion systems. By conducting inspections and diagnostics on-site, the center aims to minimize fleet downtime and operational costs for its clients.

In addition to its maintenance capabilities, the service center boasts an extensive spare parts warehouse featuring around 4,500 references of original Yutong parts. These include components for batteries, motors, propulsion systems, and HVAC units, ensuring that customers have quick access to necessary repairs and upkeep, thus optimizing vehicle uptime while minimizing losses stemming from fleet idleness.

The center also places emphasis on local expertise through its training facilities, which feature both theoretical classrooms and practical training areas. Experienced instructors provide hands-on training utilizing real vehicle components. Trainees learn about components, operational principles, simulation, and failure diagnosis directly applicable to real-world maintenance scenarios.

Yutong remains dedicated to delivering its global service commitment, 'EnRoute+'. The establishment of this service center in Norway represents a long-term commitment to its European clientele, with plans to expand its localized service approach into markets like the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia. These initiatives will bolster local repair, maintenance, and inspection capacities for electric buses while generating high-quality local job opportunities and supporting the electrification transition in public transport towards a low-carbon economy.
