Fitness Ventures Honors 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with Nationwide Stair Climb Challenge
Fitness Ventures Commemorates 25 Years Since 9/11 with a National Stair Climb Challenge
In a poignant tribute marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Fitness Ventures, the largest Crunch Fitness franchisee operating 123 locations across the United States, is orchestrating a nationwide 9/11 Remembrance Stair Climb Challenge. This event, which will occur on Friday, September 11, will see participants from over 100 local fire departments and thousands of gym members engaging in a unified remembrance of the heroic first responders from that tragic day in 2001.
The initiative has expanded significantly from previous years, nearly doubling the number of participating locations from last year's 71 to an impressive 106 Crunch gyms nationwide. This surge reflects Fitness Ventures' rapid growth and a strengthened commitment from fire departments and communities to honor the sacrifices of those who served during the September attacks.
A Meaningful Tribute
Participants will tackle a total of 110 flights of stairs—approximately 2,071 steps, symbolizing the number of floors in the World Trade Center. Fitness Ventures anticipates a turnout of 5,000 to 8,000 participants, with contributions from both Crunch members and non-members, including employees, first responders, and local community members. Notably, many of the firefighters participating will ascend the stairs in full firefighting gear as a somber salute to their fallen brothers and sisters from the FDNY.
