New Industrial Development in Huntersville, NC

Crescent Communities and GTIS Partners have officially closed on land and commenced construction for the AXIAL Commerce Station. This impressive project will consist of two major buildings, covering a total of 465,036 square feet of Class A industrial space, located conveniently at 12705 Commerce Station Drive in Huntersville, just 15 miles north of the bustling Uptown Charlotte.

This partnership signifies a significant advancement in the North Charlotte industrial market, designed for efficiency and longevity. The AXIAL Commerce Station aims to address the growing demand for distribution, manufacturing, and logistics facilities, which are increasingly vital in today’s economy. With the region experiencing rapid population growth, the development is projected to create over 250 new jobs, boosting the local economy.

Project Details

The AXIAL Commerce Station spans more than 42 acres and will feature two state-of-the-art, concrete tilt-up buildings.
1. Building 1 will have a total area of 327,261 square feet, with a clear height of 36 feet. It includes multiple knockout panels, several drive-in doors, 293 auto parking spaces, and 54 trailer stalls tailored to support logistics operations.
2. Building 2, significantly smaller at 137,775 square feet, will have a clear height of 32 feet and feature a footprint of 210 by 650 feet, accommodating 146 dedicated auto parking spaces.

Both structures will incorporate 130-foot truck courts, LED lighting, and ESFR sprinkler systems, along with approximately 2,500 square feet of office space each. The aim is not just to create space but also to make it sustainable, adhering to LEED-ready standards.

The location of AXIAL Commerce Station is particularly strategic, sitting within the highly sought-after North Charlotte submarket and along the I-77 corridor, ensuring top-notch access to significant regional and national transport networks. The area is becoming a logistics hub, thanks in part to the facilities provided by the nearby Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the advanced intermodal services offered by Norfolk Southern and CSX.
