Stretch Your Limits: Dr. Stretch Hosts the SWGP Championship

On May 26, the renowned stretch specialty provider, Dr. Stretch, celebrated its ongoing dedication to enhancing the technical prowess of its trainers by organizing the much-anticipated D1 World Grand Prix. With over 300 locations available across Japan and internationally, Dr. Stretch, headed by CEO Masahiro Kurokawa and Shunsuke Masaki, has built a reputation for excellence within the wellness industry. This year, the grand event took place in Tokyo, attracting attention due to its special guest judge, former professional baseball player Kiyoshi Nakahata.

A Showcase of Stretching Skills

The D1 World Grand Prix is a distinctive competition aimed at identifying the top trainer in Dr. Stretch's unique style known as 'Core Balance Stretch.' This style emphasizes the importance of balanced muscle flexibility, aiming to cater to clients’ diverse needs. Out of approximately 2,500 candidates, only 12 finalists advanced to the stage, showcasing their skills in a high-pressure environment. Each finalist had just one minute to assess Nakahata's physical conditions and administer the most suitable stretch techniques.

During the final round, Nakahata himself experienced the professional stretching techniques first-hand and expressed his genuine excitement. At 72, he candidly reflected on the importance of maintaining flexibility, saying, “It felt amazing! My body can become stiff with age, which is sad. Discovering Dr. Stretch is like meeting a solution perfectly crafted for me.” His praise for the stretch treatments resonated deeply, especially given that many professional sports teams have adopted their specialized methods.

The Results of the Competition

After a thrilling display of expertise, the event concluded with awards presented to the top trainers:
1. Mattou Trainer (Sendagaya Store, Tokyo) - Champion
2. Tsubota Trainer (Abeno Q's Mall Store, Osaka) - 2nd Place
3. Shirakata Trainer (Marui Family Mizoguchi Store, Kanagawa) - 3rd Place
