TreLab: Revolutionizing Dental Education Using 5G
The innovative dental education support application, TreLab, developed by Dental Prediction, has been selected for the Osaka city's "5G Introduction Trial Subsidy". This project is in partnership with Y's Dental Support and Tsubasa Dental, aiming to enhance the educational support quality for young dentists while lessening the burdens on supervising doctors. Through this initiative, the goal is to ensure safe and reliable dental care.
Key Features of TreLab
TreLab comes equipped with high-precision 3D simulations and augmented reality (AR) displays, alongside remote sharing capabilities. It's designed to improve in-clinic education quality and reduce the dependency on specific personnel. By utilizing 5G technology, the app allows for seamless editing of 3D data, enhanced AR visualizations, pre-surgery simulations, and real-time case sharing and instruction with remote supervising doctors. This technological advancement is set to revolutionize the dental education landscape.
Collaborative Efforts
Y's Dental Support, a medical service corporation, provides various services to healthcare institutions. This collaboration aims to build a remote education program utilizing TreLab alongside 5G technology and verify its effectiveness with Tsubasa Dental. Post-project, evaluation results will be used to consider a nationwide expansion to support dental healthcare.
Nurturing Future Dentists
The purpose of this endeavor is to improve the quality of educational support for young dentists, eliminate the personalization of in-clinic education, lessen the burden on supervisors, and ensure safe dental treatment. The application of TreLab in conjunction with 5G will create a conducive environment for smooth 3D data editing, AR displays, pre-surgical simulations, and real-time sharing and guidance across distances.
Implementation Schedule
This project will run from September 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, focusing on the educational enhancement of young dental professionals. The collaborative facilities under Tsubasa Dental include multiple locations across Osaka, each contributing to the success of this initiative.
