Discover the Future of Science Careers at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Forum

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is set to host its inaugural Tokyo Metropolitan Government x Science Career Discovery Forum on September 8, 2025. This unique event aims to engage first and second-year university students studying science disciplines, including civil engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering, while providing them a valuable opportunity to explore their future career paths.

The forum will allow participants to experience the dynamic roles of science-based public servants firsthand. Attendees can look forward to a series of activities including inspiring lectures, interactive discussions with young employees, and on-site visits to various projects led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Event Schedule and Venue

The event will take place from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Vision Center Shinjuku Minds Tower, located on the 12th floor, room 1201, in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Morning Session

- Lectures: The forum will begin with presentations that outline the functions and work culture within the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Senior technologists will share their career insights and discuss the impactful work involved in city development.
- Roundtable Discussions: Participants will engage in small group discussions with young employees from various technology roles, such as civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. This format will encourage open dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and seek advice directly from experienced professionals.

- Additional booths will be available, offering information on career paths, examination processes, and civil servant employment policies.

Afternoon Session

The afternoon will include organized site visits to specialized workplaces. Transportation will be facilitated by the event organizers; however, this is available only for those who express interest during registration. Participants will have the opportunity to select their preferred site from the available choices.
