Fidelis Care Unveils 2026 Behavioral Health Grants for Innovative Solutions

Fidelis Care, a prominent health plan in New York State, has initiated the application process for its 2026 Here for Your Health behavioral health grants. As a part of Centene Corporation, Fidelis Care serves over 2.4 million members, and this year's grant program is poised to address critical issues surrounding substance use disorders.

The primary aim of this year's initiative is to foster innovative strategies that alleviate barriers to care for individuals grappling with substance use disorders. Fidelis Care is particularly interested in funding programs that enhance accessibility, patient engagement, and continuity of care for underserved and marginalized populations. Grants between $10,000 and $20,000 will be awarded to projects tackling prevalent challenges such as stigma, fragmented care, and socio-economic factors that impede access to treatment and recovery services.

Dr. Vincent Marchello, Chief Medical Officer of Fidelis Care, emphasized the necessity for effective solutions, stating, "Many New Yorkers facing substance use disorders encounter hurdles that can delay or completely derail their care. Through this grant program, we are dedicated to funding innovative, community-focused solutions that will reach people where they are. By removing barriers to treatment and fostering recovery pathways, we aim to bridge gaps in care that exist in various communities."

Statistically, the National Alliance on Mental Illness indicates that around millions of adults in the United States experience mental health challenges each year, frequently alongside substance use disorders. In New York State specifically, over 3.2 million adults—approximately one in five—live with a mental health condition, with nearly 783,000 facing serious mental illnesses that significantly disrupt their daily lives. Insufficient access to coordinated care, economic instability, and housing insecurity heighten the risk of unmet behavioral health needs for many individuals.

In addressing these areas, innovative and integrated care approaches are necessary to provide timely, effective, and patient-centered health services. The application deadline for the 2026 Here for Your Health behavior health grants is set for April 1, 2026, at 5 p.m. Prospective applicants can find detailed information and submit their applications at fideliscare.org/bh-grants. Fidelis Care intends to announce the recipients of these grants in May, aligning with National Mental Health Awareness Month.
