In a significant move towards fostering sustainable education, Huawei in collaboration with JA Solar and UNESCO, along with the Thai Ministry of Education, has officially started a Green Education Project in Thailand. This initiative, part of Huawei's TECH4ALL strategy, is set to create a new generation of environmentally conscious and digitally skilled students across 11 schools and community centers.

The project's aim is clear: to blend clean energy solutions with practical education, equipping young minds with essential skills for the future. The program was inaugurated on December 3, 2024, with the commissioning of a solar-powered roof at the Banna District Learning Encouragement Center in Nakhon Nayok province. David Li, CEO of Huawei Thailand, expressed that the project transcends traditional corporate social responsibility—it's a long-term investment in Thailand's youth and their sustainable future.

Addressing Educational and Energy Challenges

One of the critical aspects of this initiative is its focus on addressing substantial issues in education and energy, particularly in underdeveloped rural areas. By providing schools with renewable energy systems and enhancing ICT skills, the project aims to fully engage students in the green energy movement.

The two centers initially benefiting from the project will deliver a variety of digital and technical skills related to green energy. The newly established Banna educational facility will offer free training in green energy and digital literacy, aimed at bridging the skills gap in less developed regions. On the other hand, Kanchanapisek Vocational School in Nong Chok will use the donated photovoltaic systems to teach students about installation, maintenance, and operation, equipping them with valuable technical knowledge for their career paths.

Tisakorn Klinbooppha, director of the Banna Center, highlighted the project as an exemplary model of collaboration between global corporations and local schools, stating that the donated solar equipment will provide students with hands-on experience in renewable energy systems, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
