EveryMind Launches the First Women's Community Veterans Engagement Board
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at elevating the voices of women veterans, EveryMind has proudly announced the launch of the ServingTogether Women's Community Veterans Engagement Board (CVEB). This remarkable board serves as the first of its kind in the United States, enhancing the needs, challenges, and strengths of women veterans and military-connected women. The board operates within the Washington D.C. region and beyond, representing a vital step towards community engagement and empowerment.
Inaugural Meeting Details
The inaugural gathering of the CVEB is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at EveryMind's headquarters located at 1000 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, MD. To ensure maximum participation, a virtual attendance option will also be made available for individuals across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. The Rockville venue has been carefully chosen for its central location, making it easily accessible for attendees traveling from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.
Inclusive and Welcoming Environment
The monthly meetings are designed to be inclusive, welcoming veterans, transitioning service members, caregivers, spouses, children of military families, and supportive allies. This initiative aims to provide a safe and friendly environment for women who have served to network and flourish.
Aimee Stoddard, who serves as the Regional Manager for Northern Virginia and is also a veteran spouse, emphasizes the importance of creating a space where women veterans and their supporters can come together. "We're creating a space where women veterans and supporters can come together, find community, and work toward meaningful change," expressed Stoddard.
A Platform for Addressing Barriers
Jennifer Watson, a U.S. Air Force veteran and the Manager of EveryMind's ServingTogether Coordination Center, is stepping up as the Secretary for the CVEB. She highlights that this board aims to tackle the obstacles women veterans face while also celebrating their resilience, contributions, and leadership. "This CVEB will be a space to address the barriers women veterans face and to celebrate their resilience, contributions, and leadership," Watson stated proudly.
Advocacy and Belonging
The initiative stands as a significant reflection of EveryMind's commitment to addressing the specific needs of women veterans. According to EveryMind CEO Ann Mazur, the platform provides women veterans with a long-overdue opportunity to gather, share their experiences, and advocate for their needs. "We're honored that ServingTogether is leading the way in building the nation's first Women's CVEB," she remarked, underscoring the organization's dedication to community-driven solutions that uplift all veterans and their families.
Funding and Support
This collaborative effort is generously supported by various organizations and foundations, including the Department of Veterans Affairs SSG Fox SPGP, D'Aniello Institute for Veteran and Military Families, Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Kahlert Foundation, TowerCares Foundation, and Wawa Foundation. Such support emphasizes the widespread recognition of the unique challenges faced by women veterans and the need for a collaborative approach to address them.
