An Event Rooted in Community
The
Toyocho green+ facility itself is symbolic of the region, having been renovated in 2023 from its previous life as a tech research facility by Takenaka Corporation into a multifaceted space combining cafes, co-working areas, and event venues. This new gathering place promotes connections between people, nature, and the community.
By hosting Toyocho Marche, the aim is to open up this space further, encouraging local engagement and intercultural exchange in the heart of Tokyo. The event showcases various local vendors, offering food options ranging from multicultural cuisine to traditional Japanese sweets.
A Taste of the Event
This year's food vendors promise to be a crowd favorite, featuring creative dishes that cater to various tastes. Notable participants include:
- - Mano a Mano: A food truck serving gourmet Banh Mi, prepared with local vegetables, offering a cozy and delightful eating experience.
- - Tonaoya: Famous for its specially crafted burgers, using custom bread and Australian beef patties.
Engaging Workshops and Entertainment
In addition to delectable food, Toyocho Marche includes unique workshops where attendees can craft mini bouquets or design custom stainless steel bottles. A special workshop hosted by
Samejima Oak allows visitors of all ages to create their own sun catcher, priced at 1000 yen. Meanwhile, children and adults alike can join the
Koi Nobori workshop, using herbs to create traditional Japanese carp streamers, all for free.
Musical entertainment will feature a Hawaiian music band on the first day and a movie screening of
SING: Next Stage on the second day, with tickets priced at 500 yen, underscoring the diverse experiences on offer.
