Huasun Surpasses 10 GW Milestone in Global HJT Solar Shipments
In a remarkable achievement for the solar energy sector, Huasun Energy has announced that it has surpassed 10 gigawatts (GW) in cumulative shipments of heterojunction solar products. This milestone, reached by the end of December 2024, marks a significant development in the evolution and acceptance of HJT (Heterojunction Technology) in the market. Notably, the company shipped an impressive 6 GW in 2024 alone, with over 1 GW delivered in December, underscoring the increasing demand for efficient solar technologies.
Xiaohua (Jimmy) Xu, the Chairman and CEO of Huasun, praised this achievement as a testament to the company's strategic vision and technological advancements. He highlighted their confidence in rapidly reaching the next 10 GW milestone, aiming to position heterojunction technology as a mainstay in the photovoltaic energy sector.
Founded just in 2020, Huasun has quickly emerged as a leader in the HJT field. The company has pioneered innovations in several areas, including single- and double-sided microcrystalline cells and cutting-edge technologies such as HBC (Heterojunction Bifacial Cell) design, copper busbar integration, and the development of HJT-perovskite tandem technologies. With over 300 patents filed, Huasun is consistently enhancing the efficiency and industrial viability of photovoltaic systems, boasting an average mass-production conversion efficiency of more than 26% for its HJT solar cells.
One of the crucial factors contributing to Huasun's success has been its robust manufacturing capabilities. On December 31, 2024, the company’s ambitious 20 GW HJT Monocrystalline Silicon Smart Factory (Phase 1) located in Yinchuan, China, achieved a landmark moment by producing its first silicon rod. This signaled the comprehensive integration of the HJT supply chain, beginning from silicon ingot production to wafer slicing, cell fabricating, and finally, module assembly.
With five production facilities in critical areas including Xuancheng, Dali, Hefei, Wuxi, and Yinchuan, Huasun is well-positioned to advance the widespread adoption of HJT technology across the globe.
Additionally, in a testament to its growing influence in the renewable energy sector, Huasun secured more than 10 GW in tenders from prominent Chinese state-owned enterprises in 2024, such as China Huaneng, China Green Development, and PowerChina. The company's pioneering solar products are now contributing to numerous solar projects across over 60 countries and regions, encompassing Europe, Asia, and beyond, facilitating a global transition towards sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions.
As Huasun continues to innovate and push the boundaries of solar technology, it is shaping the future of energy production in a world increasingly reliant on renewable sources. With its relentless commitment to excellence and sustainability, Huasun Energy is set to lead the way in the solar industry for years to come.
