Tomoya Ohtani joined SEGA in 1999 and has contributed to numerous home video game soundtracks, including
Sonic Adventure 2,
Space Channel 5 Part 2, and
Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure. He took on the role of sound director and lead composer for the 2006 release of
Sonic the Hedgehog, further shaping the musical direction of the series.
His notable achievements include winning an Excellence Award at the 2023 CEDEC AWARD for the music of
Sonic Frontiers, alongside significant recognition from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan, ranking as the 10th most popular artist internationally in 2023.
