Alaska Airlines has just announced an exciting addition to its flight routes, connecting Oregon travelers with new destinations. For the first time, the airline will offer daily nonstop flights between Portland, Oregon, and Houston, Texas, as well as resuming service between Portland and Eugene. They will also introduce a new route connecting Medford to San Diego.

New Routes Overview

Commencing on May 15, 2025, the Portland-Houston route will operate daily, making it a viable option for both business travelers and tourists alike. This addition is significant as Houston was previously the largest unserved destination from Portland. The flight from Portland will depart daily at 10:30 AM, returning from Houston at approximately 6 PM.

In addition to the Portland-Houston service, Alaska Airlines will reinstate two daily nonstop flights between Portland and Eugene. These flights are designed to optimize convenience, especially for connections requiring travel through Portland. With a 5:30 AM departure from Eugene and an evening return at 9:55 PM, passengers can enjoy a full day in Portland without needing to book an overnight stay.

The third new route is a daily flight from San Diego to Medford, which starts around the same time. The flight scheduling aims to coordinate closely for a smooth travel experience, with a mid-afternoon return from Medford.
