Hamamatsu's Innovative Approach to Connect Students with Local Employers
In an effort to tackle the decline of U-turn employment in Shizuoka Prefecture, seven organizations from Hamamatsu, including Ensui Railway Co., Ltd. and Hamamatsu Iwata Shinkin Bank, have announced a unique initiative. They will host lunch networking events for students at universities in the Tokyo and Kyoto regions. These gatherings aim to encourage students with ties to Hamamatsu to consider returning to their hometowns for employment after graduation.
Purpose of the Events
The primary goal of these events is to strengthen connections between students and local companies. With many students moving to Tokyo and Kyoto for university, a significant number choose to pursue their careers in these metropolitan areas, leaving behind the opportunities in Hamamatsu. The lunch networking sessions provide a platform that showcases the various industries in Hamamatsu, allowing students to experience the opportunities available in their home region.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost the local economy through increased U-turn employment. By presenting Hamamatsu as an attractive option, the organizers hope to entice students to return and contribute to their hometown after graduation.
Event Highlights
The events will be held in a relaxed lunch format, allowing students to engage with company representatives in a casual setting. This approach is designed to put students at ease, encouraging open conversations about career concerns and aspirations. Participants will have the chance to consult with HR personnel directly, addressing their job-related questions in a comfortable environment.
Additionally, panel discussions featuring young employees from various companies are planned, allowing students to gain insights into the workplace culture and job roles from their peers’ perspectives. This inclusive setup not only informs students about potential career paths but also helps them envision themselves as part of the local workforce.
