Exotec Showcasing Next-Gen Skypod at INNOVATION EXPO 2025

Exotec SAS, a French company specializing in warehouse automation robotics, is set to exhibit at the upcoming INNOVATION EXPO 2025 from September 10 to 12 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight). The event aims to facilitate technological advancements, provide trade improvement, and promote information exchange under the theme “Keeping Logistics Moving. Driving Society.”

During this expo, Exotec will unveil the next-generation Skypod® robot, which includes four key innovative features designed to elevate warehouse productivity and flexibility:

1. Temporary Storage Function (Buffer): This feature allows for the storage of picked containers and packed boxes directly within the rack, eliminating the need for external buffers, thus reducing space usage and movement between processes.

2. Automatic Arrangement Function: The robot actively controls outbound stock according to delivery routes and storage order, significantly shortening loading and in-store processing times.

3. Automatic Box Selection: Based on product size and quantity, the system automatically selects the optimal box for packaging, contributing to material reduction and improved loading efficiency.

4. Pick & Pack: This function integrates picking and boxing at a single station, minimizing movement distances, reducing workload, and utilizing space more effectively while enhancing throughput.

These advanced functionalities enable Exotec to support B2B, B2C, and omnichannel operations under one unified system, optimizing every stage from storage to shipment. The system is designed to be responsive even during peak seasons and for handling various product types, thereby enhancing overall warehouse productivity and shipping accuracy.

Attendees can witness the dynamic movements of the robots, experience enhanced workstation operations in action, and engage in virtual warehouse experiences in an immersive space.
