Since winning the Second Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun Manga Award in 2012, Akimoto Tsukue has made notable strides in both illustration and comic artistry. Akimoto articulates his artistic philosophy: "Although I behave like a painter in galleries or art fairs, the essence of what I create has not shifted significantly since my elementary school days. It often feels as though I am still in my school’s art room, almost like a ghost. This feeling is not negative; it embodies a sense of returning to my creative roots."
