On October 14, 2025, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, visited the Government of Sharjah Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event brought together 20 government entities under the theme 'Powered by Tech, Driven by People' to showcase Sharjah's ambition in digital transformation and sustainability.
During his visit, Sheikh Dr. Salem was briefed on various innovative technology-driven initiatives and digital experiences presented by the participating government entities. The pavilion highlighted how these initiatives are designed to improve government efficiency, enhance digital integration across Sharjah, and ultimately elevate the quality of life for its residents. The Emirate seeks to create a sustainable, people-first digital future that benefits all citizens.
The pavilion consisted of four primary ecosystems: Digital Experiences, Environmental Sustainability, Smart Cities, and Our Humanity. Each ecosystem demonstrated proactive solutions that evidenced seamless collaboration among government entities, all powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence and data connectivity.
In addition to his tour of the pavilion, Sheikh Dr. Salem participated in activities at the Sharjah Digital Hackathon, which was launched by the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) in partnership with the Rubu' Qarn Centre for Science and Technology and the Sharjah Youth Council. This initiative aims to bolster Sharjah's ecosystem of innovation while empowering youth and government talents. The hackathon encourages participants to develop AI-powered solutions that will improve urban infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of government services.
An exciting highlight in the Digital Experiences segment was the presentation of the Digital Sharjah Assistant, a real-time, interactive AI assistant that operates through text and voice commands. This innovative tool allows users to obtain information easily and execute several government transactions seamlessly through a conversational interface, making civic engagement more accessible for residents.
Continuing his exploration of technological advancements, Sheikh Dr. Salem toured the Aqari Platform, a comprehensive digital hub that centralizes real estate services within Sharjah. This platform connects various entities through a unified gateway, enabling residents to access accurate property data and greatly improving their overall experience with real estate services.
Furthermore, His Excellency examined the Nabni Platform, which connects Sharjah's municipalities through artificial intelligence to streamline building and construction procedures. This system is essential for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the building and construction regulation processes.
Sheikh Dr. Salem also checked the Empower Gov AI tool, designed to empower public sector employees in their daily tasks by utilizing AI capabilities. This assistant connects multiple government entities, automates routine internal inquiries, manages access permissions, and boosts overall productivity across different departments.
The visit encapsulated Sharjah's dedication to innovating its government services utilizing technology to create a better future for its citizens. By fostering collaboration between various government entities and engaging the community in these technologies, Sharjah paves the way for sustainable growth and a technologically adept society as it forges ahead in the digital age.
