Huawei Launches Next-Gen All-Flash Data Center Products at MWC 2025
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 held in Barcelona, Huawei took center stage with the unveiling of four cutting-edge All-Flash Data Center products, along with two industry-specific solutions aimed at transforming data storage capabilities for various scenarios. The company is pushing the boundaries of innovation with these launches, specifically targeting organizations looking to enhance their data management and accelerate their digital transformation in an era marked by artificial intelligence (AI).
Huawei's new generation of All-Flash Data Center products signifies a pivotal advancement in data storage technology. Among the highlights is the converged storage system, OceanStor Dorado, which features an industry-first architecture separating data and control planes, significantly boosting performance up to threefold. This innovative design also integrates a SmartMatrix architecture that guarantees zero data loss, even with the failure of seven out of eight control levels, ensuring robustness and reliability. The system supports a native architecture for block, file, and object storage, giving businesses versatility in managing their data efficiently.
The OceanStor A800 is another notable addition, fashioned to be a high-performance storage system for AI applications. This product is claimed to be the industry’s first long-term memory storage solution, allowing for higher data throughput ideal for training large AI models. The response times are dramatically improved, with enhancements making computational power utilization rise by 30%.
Additionally, the OceanStor Pacific 9928 emerges as a scalable storage solution for data analytics. It efficiently supports extensive concurrent access and various hybrid workloads, thanks to its high-capacity SSDs boasting up to 61.44 terabytes. The intelligent data compression algorithms and dynamic heat dispersion design allow the system to maintain peak capacity density of up to 4 PB in a 2U form factor, while exhibiting an energy consumption rate of just 0.25 W/TB.
For data backup, Huawei introduced the OceanProtect E8000, a next-gen all-flash storage solution employing QLC media and a scalable architecture capable of achieving backup performance of up to 8 PB/h. This backup solution also leverages built-in algorithms to maximize data reduction ratios to an impressive 721.
As organizations increasingly find themselves in need of dependable data storage systems—especially in finance and education sectors—these solutions are designed to meet critical performance demands. The redundantly geo-distributed 4DC solution of the OceanStor Dorado provides five copies for financial applications, ensuring zero latency during peak operating times, backed by full-mesh technology guaranteeing system reliability of 99.99999%. Furthermore, multi-layer ransomware protection is incorporated to secure data and service continuity across all channels.
Another significant offering is the RDM (research data management) solution aimed at educational and scientific institutions, showcasing unique multi-active technology for reliable disaster recovery and flexible data sharing.
In all, Huawei’s commitment to advancing data center technologies is fully evident in these new product launches, reflecting the company's dedication to supporting the smart transformation of organizations and unlocking the true value of data in the age of AI.
