Enfinity Global Announces Major Energy Storage Projects in Texas
Enfinity Global Strengthens Texas Energy Storage Capabilities
Enfinity Global Inc., a prominent renewable energy leader, has recently unveiled its plans to enhance its energy storage portfolio in the United States by adding two significant projects in Texas. These projects will have a combined capacity of 425 MW, marking a notable expansion in Enfinity's commitment to innovative energy solutions. Construction for these initiatives is slated to commence in the second and fourth quarters of 2025.
This ambitious endeavor boosts Enfinity's total energy storage capacity in the U.S. to an impressive 6.6 GW. This strategic move comes at a crucial time as the demand for energy solutions rises, particularly in high-growth sectors like artificial intelligence (AI) and manufacturing.
The new projects will feature a total storage capacity of 850 MWh, with a duration of two hours, and will be strategically located around the Houston and Dallas areas within the ERCOT distribution network. As ERCOT faces unprecedented demand growth, it is imperative to increase the production of renewable energy in conjunction with battery storage systems. Once operational, these facilities will play a vital role in stabilizing the ERCOT grid and supporting the expansion of renewable energy to meet the growing electricity demand in Texas, largely fueled by new AI data centers.
Carlos Domenech, the CEO of Enfinity Global, expressed pride in the company's efforts, stating, "We are excited to invest, generate energy, and facilitate technological advancements at an unprecedented pace, cost, and functionality in the race for global competitiveness. All of this while creating new jobs and making significant investments in the U.S. economy."
Enfinity Global, operating as an Independent Power Producer (IPP), is rapidly expanding its presence in the U.S. The company's existing portfolio in the country comprises 400 MW in operational assets, 19 GW of solar and energy storage projects under development, and an additional 37 GW in negotiation. Enfinity anticipates surpassing 1 GW of operational and under-construction solar and storage assets in the U.S. this year.
Ricardo Díaz, CEO of Enfinity Global Americas, added, "Our proven capability for in-house project development has allowed our expansion into the stand-alone energy storage segment. This positions us as a key player in strengthening and balancing ERCOT's power grid, while also creating value-added investment opportunities for Enfinity and our financial partners."
