The concept behind Canary is derived from the phrase “THE ISLAND INSIDE YOU,” creating a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy singing and gathering together.

Concept and Design

The interior decor at Canary is inspired by the Canary Islands, featuring a warm palette of browns and ambers. This design aims to evoke feelings of nostalgia through a blend of Showa Retro and early Heisei-era vibes, adding a sprinkle of contemporary elements to create a harmonious “adult hideaway.” The project is helmed by Ken Hasegawa, representative of Rivermouth, who emphasizes the importance of crafting experiences that resonate deeply with visitors. Hasegawa has also been instrumental in establishing the community coffee shop Good good not bad in Tokyo and Kyoto, focusing on meaningful interactions and memories.

Art direction is led by Tokyo-based graphic designer and illustrator Kasper, known for intertwining music culture with visual arts. His work at Canary encompasses everything from logo design to creating a distinctive atmosphere enriched by the essence of music, fashion, and food. Currently, Kasper is also engaging in experience design for the social platform Senspace.

System and Offerings

At Canary, patrons can enjoy an inclusive charge that covers an all-you-can-drink selection featuring premium whiskey “Kaku,” shochu “Kinmiya,” and lemon sour, along with karaoke services. This straightforward system encourages guests to fully enjoy their time, freely reaching for drinks and microphones as the night unfolds. Additionally, there are no hidden service charges, ensuring transparency in pricing. For those seeking something extra, the bar offers bottle service, champagne selections, and custom shot menus, allowing for a delightful experience tailored to the occasion.

Canary's house whiskey is Kaku, while Kinmiya serves as the house shochu. Guests can also explore rare rums from the Canary Islands, such as “Aleucas,” and unique cocktails featuring banana liqueur.
