Discovering the Allure of 'Higo Green' and 'Ibara King' in Royal Host's Melon Dessert Festival

Royal Host, part of the Royal Group, is set to enchant dessert lovers with its seasonal promotion, 'Melon Dessert: Enjoy the Flavor of Domestic Melons' starting from May 13, 2026. With a focus on juicy, domestically grown melons, this year's festival introduces an innovative approach by dividing the promotional period into two segments. This allows patrons to savor the unique flavors of two different varieties, showcasing a 'melon relay' of taste transformation as summer unfolds.

In the first half, guests can relish the freshness and sweetness of the Kumamoto-produced 'Higo Green,' known for its succulent texture and vibrant green netting. This will transition to the second half featuring the 'Ibara King' from Ibaraki Prefecture, which offers a rich sweetness and a refreshing aftertaste. Both varieties will be highlighted in five exquisite melon desserts, allowing for a delightful palette journey.

One of the standout dishes is the 'Melon & Coconut Brûlée Parfait,' a refreshing parfait layered with caramelized crème brûlée, complemented by melon, coconut ice cream, thyme biscuit, and elderflower-flavored jelly. Designed to capture the essence of early summer, this dessert brings the vibrant flavors of the season to life. Other offerings include a classic 'Melon Parfait,' where the exquisite taste of melon is the hero, and 'Marinated Melon with Blanmanjé,' which features marinated melon combined with a smooth almond-flavored panna cotta and is served alongside thyme biscuits and elderflower jelly.

For afternoon tea enthusiasts, the festival introduces a special 'Melon Dessert Plate (with drink),' available from 2 PM to 6 PM. This delightful plate features a petite melon parfait, marinated melon, and a small crème brûlée with banana and melon, enhanced by mini pancakes, creating a delightful accompaniment to a relaxing afternoon.

To elevate the dessert experience, Royal Host also presents a selection of tea pairings from the TEARTH series available at the drink bar, carefully crafted to enhance the flavors of the melon desserts.

As the early summer season approaches, guests are invited to enjoy a moment of comfort in the rich culinary space that Royal Host is committed to cultivating. The restaurant aims to continue offering seasonal desserts that celebrate the joy of food and the richness of culinary experiences.
