Completion of 'marunouchi FUKULA'
The highly anticipated 'marunouchi FUKULA', a multifunctional facility developed as part of the Fukui Station Front North District B Urban Redevelopment Project, has officially been completed. This complex facility is jointly developed by Takara Leben Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of MIRARTH Holdings, alongside the Fukui Station Front North District B Urban Redevelopment Association. The completion took place in February 2026, with a grand opening ceremony held on March 24.
Purpose and Background of the Urban Redevelopment Project
Located in the heart of Fukui City, the North District B area has historically developed as a commercial district since the early 1950s. However, in recent years, the area has faced challenges such as aging buildings, an increase in vacant stores, and the evolution towards a super-aged society. The primary goal of this redevelopment project is to overcome these issues by implementing rational land utilization and renewing urban functions. This initiative aims to create a vibrant and communal space by integrating commercial, medical, welfare, and residential facilities.
Structure and Role of 'marunouchi FUKULA'
The 'marunouchi FUKULA' stands 10 stories high with one basement. The first floor features restaurants and a bakery café, while the second floor is equipped with medical and welfare facilities including an internal medicine clinic and a rehabilitation center.
Our company, Takara Leben, is responsible for the residential segment on floors three through ten. The 'Leben Fukui Central ARCGATE', comprising 62 units, proposes a new urban lifestyle leveraging the convenience of the Fukui Station nearby. The courtyard area, 'marunouchi TERRACE', showcases benches made from rare Shakudani stone, traditionally used in Fukui Castle. The exterior tiles reflect the beauty of the local Shakudani stone, ensuring the region's culture and history are passed on to future generations.
Ceremony Highlights
To commemorate the completion, a series of events were held at the site and surrounding facilities. The day began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by stakeholders to celebrate the facility's opening. Following that, attendees moved to the Fukui Prefectural Hall for a completion ceremony filled with various speeches and a symbolic sake barrel opening, celebrating the arrival of a new landmark in Fukui.
