In a significant recognition of her commitment to health care excellence, Susie White, Chief Operating Officer of Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), was awarded the prestigious President's Award by the San Bernardino County Medical Society (SBCMS) at the annual Installation of Officers and Award Recognition Dinner held in Victorville on June 26, 2025. The SBCMS President's Award is granted to individuals who demonstrate outstanding dedication to health education, public health, and organizational mission.

Celebrating Commitment to Community


This award serves not only as a personal accolade for Susie White but also as a testament to the impactful initiatives undertaken by IEHP, which aims to bring about lasting change in the Inland Empire region. During her acceptance speech, White expressed her gratitude and emphasized that the recognition extends beyond her personal achievements, highlighting the collaborative efforts of her team to enhance community health.

"This recognition is truly meaningful because it allows me to not only showcase my successes, but IEHP's as well," said White. "My story is just one of many, but its roots run deep and are 'watered' by a strong commitment to serve others through initiatives tailored to create lasting change in the Inland Empire."


Leadership and Vision for Health Care


Outgoing SBCMS President Dr. William Jih, who played a pivotal role in selecting White for the award, praised her exceptional leadership. According to Dr. Jih, White has established a values-driven culture at IEHP, empowering both health care professionals and patients. He stated, "Susie White and her leadership at IEHP are the model of quality health care, and we are grateful for her dedication and pursuit of excellence. She has built a career from the ground up by constantly being someone that can be relied upon and trusted."

White’s journey with IEHP began in 1998, where she undertook various roles within the organization. In 2019, she ascended to her current position as COO, where she is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of IEHP and ensuring the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at better serving the organization's members, employees, and healthcare providers.

A Commitment to Education and Advocacy


Susie White holds a Bachelor’s degree in health care management and a Master’s in Business Administration in management and leadership from the University of La Verne. Apart from her professional achievements, she is also a passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness, actively engaging in community initiatives in memory of her mother, Jo.
